Welcome M Waseem Fazal – our new PhD Student!

This week, we welcome M Waseem Fazal to the SafeREnergy Hub community – based at Deakin University, where he has commenced his PhD research.

His research will focus on the fabrication of electrodes using different kinds of nanomaterials such as metal oxide and nitrides, a metal-organic framework for electrochemical oxygen/hydrogen evolution reaction and their application for other energy storage devices.

He completed his Master of Science in Chemistry from COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, Pakistan, in 2022. His research experience consists of working as a Research Visitor at Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Biomedical Materials (IRCBM) COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, Pakistan from February 2021 to August 2022 and joined Research Internee from September 2022 to April 2024.

His Master’s thesis research project was focused on “Fabrication of CN Wrapped Bimetallic Metal Organic Framework for Water Splitting” and published in “ACS Applied Energy Materials”. He is also co-author of six research articles. He is very inquisitive about developing and advancing Solid State Electrolytes for the development of Solid-State Batteries.
