Professor Ian Chen, Hub Director, is excited to welcome Node Leaders, Chief Investigators, Researchers, PhD students, and Industry Partners to the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus for the 3rd Annual SafeREnergy Conference, taking place on Thursday, 13th and Friday, 14th February 2025. The conference will showcase the Hub’s research progress over the past year, offering attendees a valuable opportunity to share insights with peers and foster beneficial collaborations.
Attendees will receive a progress report on research conducted within the hub, focusing on research undertaken over the last year. There will also be presentations from special guests during this collaborative event. Presentation awards will be given to post-doc fellows and PhD students.

The University of Queensland, which was the first for the state, was established through a 1909 Act of State Parliament and officially founded on April 16, 1910. Construction on the St Lucia campus commenced in 1937, with the first building being completed in 1939.

There are no hotels located within the immediate vicinity of the university, however, the university is lucky to be serviced directly by a CityCat ferry.
