Celebrating the pioneers shaping Australia’s sustainable water future, the NSW Water Awards recently brought together the nation’s leading innovators to recognise excellence, ingenuity, and impact across the sector.
We are proud to celebrate a major achievement, with the Infrastructure Project Innovation Award (Regional) awarded to our very own Sewer Pumpstation Battery Energy Storage System project—recognising its cutting-edge approach and real-world impact in advancing resilient, sustainable energy solutions.
Designed with real-world impact at its core, this project set out to safeguard the environments surrounding pump station sites from future power infrastructure faults and outages—and its success today confirms it was a winning vision from the very beginning.
Of course, the success of this project wouldn’t have been possible without significant vision and oversight from our partners – University of Wollongong, Australian Power Quality Research Centre and Shoalhaven Water, supported by funding from Australian Research Council (ARC)
🏅 While this achievement reflects the strength and dedication of the entire project team, special recognition is extended to our Academic leaders Edward Smith and Duane Robinson, whose leadership and expertise were pivotal in delivering such an outstanding result.
With sincere thanks to the Australian Water Association for their valued support in making this event possible.
